Nottingham People’s Alliance is a new political party, formed in October 2025, rooted in our communities, trade unions and social movements. We are a Nottingham focussed democratic, member-led socialist party standing for social justice, peace and solidarity.
As our membership grows, our policies will be shaped by the broadest possible alliance of working-class people and diverse communities, including Nottingham’s African, Caribbean and Asian communities. But from the start, we have been clear about the values we stand for:
- Winning elections with a bold programme for real change
- Standing up for local people — always acting in the interests of our communities, including households’ cost of living, not taking orders from overly centralised parties
- No cuts to council services or jobs – from youth and community centres and libraries to services for our most vulnerable, like social care and homelessness support
- Putting council and social housing first and standing up for renters’ rights
- Achieving carbon neutrality and fighting for climate justice
- Fighting for equality and social justice — opposing all prejudice and discrimination used to divide communities, by class, race, religion, ability, gender or sexuality
- Shifting power back to people — organising and campaigning in communities and workplaces, through social movements and trade unions
- Challenging capitalism and inequality — extending democracy into the economy, including public ownership of key services and Community Wealth Building
- Opposing imperialism and colonisation — supporting local movements for liberation and self-determination globally
